Is the facial pore cleaner actually working?

A review of the Vivitar Ultra Suction Pore Cleaner

If you ever wondered (just like us) how efficient a device for pore cleaning is, then read on!

The Vivitar Simply Beautiful comes in an ergonomic shape, battery-powered (the 2 AA batteries not included), super easy to use, delivered together with 4 exchangeable heads and replacement filters.

Truly surprising, it actually delivers what it promises, but you need to follow some key steps:

1. Moist your skin before usage

Your facial skin needs to be clean and moist, specifically, your pores need to be open! Easiest to attain this is soon after showering. This is the best moment to use the pore cleaner, or after you prepared your face, for example, with a steam infusion for pore cleaning.

2. Use the correct removable head

Vivitar Simply Beautiful Pore Cleaner comes with 4 heads designed for different purposes: pore suction cleaning, reducing fine lines, softening the skin, or hardening the skin.

So, according to the procedure you want to do, choose the right head. For first-time usage (or longer time since the last usage) might be a good idea to start with cleaning, then wrinkle reducer, and after the others.

3. Do not use it on one spot for more than 3 seconds

Because of its strong suction power, your skin might get slightly damaged, if you apply it on the same spot for more than 3 seconds.

Try moving it around a bigger surface area on your face, so you don’t overburden one specific spot, but still, get it cleaned.

4. Apply your face cream after usage

Your skin might get slightly dry and a bit ‘tired’ after the treatment, so your face cream comes into valuable play now.

Go for a hydrating face cream after your treatment. This will help your skin get the nutritious elements it needs to look great.

5. Do not use it more than 2 times per week

Though it can be tempting to use the pore cleaner as much as possible, try to retain yourself from doing it, because your skin can get damaged.

Moreover, constantly trying to remove blackheads (or greasy spots) will only make your skin produce more of it. You might want to use the wrinkle reducer more frequently, but do pay attention to how your skin reacts.

6. Always clean the heads at the end of your treatement

Just like with any other cosmetic tools, the pore cleaner needs good maintenance as well, so wash the plastic heads after you had used them with warm water and a bit of soap.
